By Daniel Trostel -- on the Road with Johnson Harvesting

The Great Harvest of 2008 journey started for Daniel on May 18, 2008, with a 250 mile drive to Niles, Michigan to ride out to Minnesota with another of last year's team members, Jordan.  The two drove to Evansville, Minnesota May 19, 2008, to meet up with other team members and get equipment ready for the journey south to Frederick, Oklahoma, first stop of the 2008 harvest season.

May 18, 2008 from Fletcher, Ohio. At least this year's journey started in the daylight hours. In 2007 we left home at 4:00 a.m. to drive 130 miles to catch a train. Daniel departed home from Fletcher about 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon. The field to the back of the truck is planted with soy beans. From Niles, Michigan, Daniel and Jordan climbed into Jordan's truck to continue the journey west to Evansville.
